I know this is wayyyyyyy late... well maybe by a week, but it's been a little crazy lately.  Not a bad crazy just a busy crazy.  With the shop up and running now, things have been in few swing, and there has been no turning back.

We were at the "Works" in Raleigh, NC last Wednesday for the 4th.  The BF and I woke up at 5 am and headed out early.  We weren't really sure what to expect, so we wanted to make sure that we were one of the first people there to set up.

When we arrived the first thing that popped in my head was New York City.  We were surrounded by enormous buildings, and we were to be set up right in the middle of it all.  The sun was shining and we were ready for the people to come.  This was the first year that Raleigh was having the fireworks at this location, so no one knew what the turn out was going to be.

It didn't take long for the people to arrive.  It was a steady crowd all day.  We were loving it although it was HOT.  We were lucky to have power this time, so we had the fans running full blast.  Everything was going great UNTIL the down pour came.  I was a nervous wreck the entire time.  Everyone was running for cover and seeking shelter.  Although we were ok because we do have a "indoor"shop, I was so scared that the water was going to bust my awning.  Thank heavens my dad and the BF was there, as they were having to continuously drain the water from the sides.  I'm glad it decided to not rain all day and the sun came back out.

Around 4:30 is when it started to get busy.  In fact it got so busy there were times where I got a little over whelmed.  I looked over and not only was I helping people, but I could see that to my right my dad was helping people and to my left there was the BF helping a group.  It was great.  I had the two best men in my life right there next to me, on this wonderful journey of mine!  As it started to get dark, the crowd only kept coming.  There were was shoulder to shoulder traffic, and we were right in the middle of it all.  I was loving every moment.

The fireworks started up, and I really did feel like I was living the American dream.  The shop looked so pretty all lit up at night and with the fireworks in the back ground, it was awesome seeing my dream becoming a reality.  I met so many great people that day!  Thank you all who came.

Stay tuned for our next journey!

Enjoy!

Well it was another wonderful day with the shop.  We were at the Person County Personality festival today, enjoying the sunshine, people, and some great music.  It was a hot one, but we were lovin the people that came out to visit.  It is always so nice to be able to listen to some live music while we are up and running.  There were some men that were playing some really good blue grass music, and I don't think we were the only one's enjoying it.

Overall it was a great Saturday!  How has your weekend been so far!?!

Enjoy!

Happy Wednesday!  Ahhh yes the middle of the week.  Now if we can all just make it to Friday, and then we will be free and ready for another great weekend!
Sorry I am writing so late.  It has been quite the busy week!  I had such a blast last weekend at the Flea.  Being at the Raleigh Flea market makes me feel like I am at home.  I get to meet so many different wonderful people.  The Go Girl Shoppe definitely feels the love when we are out there, not to mention the weather was wonderful.  You know what this means!?!  MORE VENDORS!   There were many great vendors out there as well, with the most interesting arrange of items.  You never really know what you will find when you are out there.
It was great to see so many new faces, and to make my days even better there were a few people that came to see the shop that saw on facebook that we would be out there.  I love it!  Keep on following us, we love our friends.

This coming Saturday we will be at the Personaility Festival in Roxboro NC.  Not only will you get to visit The Go Girl Shoppe but there will be a lot of activities, and other vendors there as well.
 Visit http://www.roxboronc.com/ for more information.

Well hello again!  I am back in one piece.  I had the greatest time in the lovely town of Charleston South Carolina.  With the help of the boyfriend prying my fingers away from the shop, I was able to take a short vacation, which I was totally needing!  My best friend moved down there a couple of years ago.  A dreamer herself, she decided she wanted to get away, so she pack her bags, and headed towards the beach (however in a different state).  The visit was way over due, and I am so happy I got to see her.  Even better she just bought her first house, which was the cutest.

We did a lot of sight seeing, and saw so many cute shops.  I just love the vibe some of the stores exudes.  Charleston is very much so a historic town, that has the college town vibe.  It's kind of strange.  It gives off this old town money mixed with people who are eclectic, and artsy.  Totally me if I must say.  I wish I could have stayed longer, however the shop must go on.

Keep a look out.  We are planning on some new adventures out in June.  Get excited get excited.  We are working on some new items, that are going to be fun.  Be on the look out for us.

Enjoy

Amazing!  What a Saturday at the Hillsborough Hog Day.  I could not have asked for a nicer day.  The weather was great, the people I met were the greatest... everything about it was just wonderful!

The boyfriend and I woke up at 3 AM... yes, you read this correctly - 3 AM!  We wanted to make sure that we were able to get the Go Girl in her spot.  Little did we know that we would be the first people there and we were ok with that.  We were ready!

We were able to set the girl up and anxiously waited for the people to arrive.  We really didn't know what the turn out was going to be like, however we were just excited to be there.  I had the cowgirl boots and chick apron on, the love and support from my friends and family, and I was ready to start the day.

The blue grass music was playing, the barbecue winners were announced, and the gates were opened for the people to come in to the venue.

I had a blast meeting so many people who loved and enjoyed all the things in the shop - things that I love myself.  I received nothing but great positive feedback about the shoppe.  The best part of my day was when these adorable girls asked if I was hiring.  It's customers like that who reassure me I am on the right track of bringing my customers a unique shopping experience.

I have had two fabulous shows in May.  Over the next few weeks I will be re-grouping and taking a little down time with the boyfriend on a little vaca.  Also, I will be going on a little adventure hunting for more fun and exciting things to bring back to the Go Girl Shoppe.  Stay tuned and visit back with me for future updates on what the go girl is up to and where she will be next.

Enoy!

EEEeeeekkkk.

Everything is coming together, as it should be!  Unfortunately we had a monsoon of rain come our way today, which totally didn't help at all, so I was not able to work out side any.  When I say monsoon, I mean the rath of God came pouring down over lil' ole Durham.  The tree's were blowing and the sky was dark as night.  I honestly felt like Dorthy from the Wizard of Oz, and could have been blown away at any moment.  I just hope this bad weather passes through!  I have been frequently checking the weather and up to this point it is suppose to be a high of 81 and sunny.  Fingers crossed!

On another note since I am stuck in the house, I have been trying my hand at baking.  I am trying to be domesticated, but it just isn't working in my favor.  So far my first cake that I made turned into a epic failure!  When I flipped the pan over, the entire cake fell out, crumbling all to pieces everywhere.  At least the dogs got a little bit of heaven.  I'm on cake number two, and if I keep up at the rate, I guess I will be back at the store with a buggy full of cake mixes.  All I have to say is thank the heavens I am not opening a cake shop or we would all be in some trouble!

Enjoy!

I been feeling the pressure lately!  It is coming down to the final two weeks before the 1st big outing.  The more I think about it the more anxious I get.  No matter how ready I think I am, I always think there will be something I need to fix, or could do better.

Just breath. Count backwards.

OK.  As my BF said last week "Meghan get your self together". Ha.  Sometimes that is all it takes.

I've been trying to brain storm on what kind of music to play in the shop.  Music really is everything.  I love it when I go into one of my favorite shops, and then all of a sudden one of my jams is playing.  It's GREAT!  I am known for singing out loud to them.  I guess it can be embarrassing, depending on who you ask.  Maybe a little country, rock and roll, or a mix.

I have recently been jamming out to Fleetwood Mac's "Gypsy".  Not really sure why, but I can take a guess. Ha.  I decided when that song comes on, I have a tendency to get more deep into my creative ways or maybe it has become brain washed in my head that the shop has reminds people of gypsies.  Ehhhh, I don't mind, I would take someone calling me a free spirt/dreamer any day!

Rainy day's aren't going to slow this girl down.  I must say that I much rather have a sunny day on the weekend than a rainy one, however I am using this day to my full advantage.  I have the music turned up, got the designer bug, and I have the screen print machine going.

I am obsessed with these little towels.  I'm not really sure... haha, maybe it's the cute sayings, bright colors, and how soft the they are.  I cheated and snagged one for my self.  I think the one below fits me perfectly!  I even saw my mother in the shop last week, showing one of our family friends some of the goodies for the big Mother's Day sale, and she just so happen to sneak one one in a goodie bag for him.

They are just about all done.  I need to iron them, wrap them up, place a tag around them, and then we will be good to go!

Hope your Sunday is just as fabulous!

Enjoy.

Saturday, April 21, 2012

well well well.... boy have I had a busy day Saturday! I drove down to Charlotte to do a little pick'n for the shop, and boy did I find some goodies!  I think it would be a under statement to tell you that this place had a bunch of "stuff", however I felt right at home.  It was wonderful!  There were acres and acre's of beautiful junk, antiques, and anything else you could think of.  The sun was shining, the weather was nice, the cowgirl boots on, and I was off and on my way for the hunt.

The boyfriend and I stayed for a full three hours.  When we first showed up it was so OVERWHELMING.  You know the feeling when it's Christmas and you can't sleep because you are so excited to open your presents the next morning.  This is exactly how I felt but it was even better.  There were so many of my favorite things that I honestly did not know where to even begin.  As I would sift through one pile I would catch a glimpse of something peaking out from below a bucket, and would eagerly rush to un-bury it.

I was able to find some great treasures for the shop, and I hope that the people who they find a home with, enjoys them as much as I did when I saw them!

That is beauty in finding things you love!

Enjoy.

Happy Tuesday! wahoo!
yes, I know... I have not been on here for a while.  To be honest it has been way to long.  I am proud to announce that the Go Girl Shoppe, is starting to take shape, and she is almost ready to take her first step out in public.  Eeeeekkk, I am so excited I can hardly wait.  I must say that it has been nothing but some blood, sweat, and tears on this one!  There have been some times where I have doubted my self, but I guess there is no looking back now!

If you can't already tell from the photo below that she has already made a huge transformation, from what she used to look like!  We had our first photo shoot a couple of weeks ago, for our future advertising projects!  So what do ya think?!?

Enjoy!

Ready to make her mark!

ATTENTION!
ATTENTION!
DRUM ROLL PLEASE.....

It has begun.  The Go Girl Shoppe is a go!  There is no stopping her, so you better move out of the way.  It has taken a little while to get her up and going but she is in full swing and ready for her debut in 2012!   We are doing some re-pairs on her but she will be just as fabulous as ever this coming spring.

<------ As you can see here this is the lovely soon to be Go Girl in all her glory when I first bought her.  To many you may see nothing fancy, but to me she is about to get all dolled up and show the world who she really is.  She is going to sparkle and shine!

Tomorrow this little bathing beauty will be getting the last walls put up in her before the new siding goes up inside.  The BF, who is also my handy man, or what I like to call him, You Go Boy, is helping me with this new adventure of mine.  Stayed tuned for more photos.
